新一年Ken哥又有新片上線喇!

@wing o also, Quote "But starting in 1964, laws mandated that these gases be recaptured" So PCV system existing long time ago. But back in the early years, no direct injection, only port injection, so carbon build in around intake is not a problem.

@Raymond Lee 以前架車1985年生產,已經有偈油氣喉接駁到生氣喉。35年前環保法例有咁嚴嗎?還是這樣接駁有別的原因呢?

@Toyota Rav4 Crankcase vacuums is "good" for power but pcv systems can't possibly develop a pressure differential of even 1psi. Compared with average cylinder pressures of over 200psi, EVEN IF you had a system which improves crankcase vacuum by a bit, the actual power difference would be lost in the noise. Secondly, adding an oil catch can cannot by definition improve the pcv's ability to vent crankcase fumes because your adding a restriction to the system. Finally the amount of fuel/water/oil in the crankcase is incredibly small (because the can catches something like a few hundred ml of fluid every few months) and saying this improves knock characteristics is like saying using 93octane makes more power than 92.999 octane gas. Sure strictly speaking is true but again, it's effect is fast smaller than random noise. The benefit is in long term reliability from not building up carbon deposits that can hurt the engine later on in time.

I would think this is an advert except there were no plugs. But this is absolute horseshit. Oil catch cans DO NOT make power. If you want to be super anal retentive then sure, it helps prevents detonation via reducing carbon buildup and engine oil vapor has the anti knock properties equal to that of crude oil, and pcv systems CAN help produce lower crankcase pressures than atmosphere (by fractions of a single psi, remember that BMEP of modern turbocharged 2.0l engines is something like 300psi) but all of these things are at the end of the day extremely minor improvements. They yield LONG TERM benefits by providing a little bit of help over the entire life of the engine, not producing instantaneous measurable benefits. Is like saying you accelerate faster if you take a shit before you drive. Technically true but realistically its a load of crap.

@Toyota Rav4 This is categorically untrue if you mean breathing as in uptake of air/oxygen to be combusted with fuel. This is also untrue as to helping the air in the crankcase be renewed. AOS/OCC do not improve the crankcase's ability to replenish air through the PCV/Breather. It only "cleans" the air which is being removed before it gets put back into the intake. There's nothing about an AOS/OCC that improves efficiency, if anything it DECREASES efficiency since it represents a restriction (that's how the oil get's separated).

AOS / Catchcan helps the engine to breathe more efficiently compared to stock setup and yes, it does not gain anything but the engine performance will be better utilised which in a way makes "more power".
